Trail Stories
Words from fellow explorers
The homestay in Demul changed something in me. Sitting with Tashi-la, eating thukpa by lamplight while he told stories of his grandfather's yak trades - that's not a trip. That's a different life bleeding into yours. I left a piece of myself in those mountains.
Standing on Chicham Bridge, wind screaming through the gorge below, the Spiti river catching gold in the evening light - I've traveled four continents and nothing prepared me for this. The landscape doesn't just surround you, it consumes you. Bunny Trails knew exactly where to take us.
At Demul, 14,000 feet, no light pollution - I saw the Milky Way arch across the entire sky like a river. Our captain Rohan woke us at 3 AM for it. Nobody spoke. Six strangers sitting on a rooftop in a village time forgot, just staring at infinity. That's the kind of night that rewires you.
